5-Bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (5-BrdU) is a thymidine analog utilized in the study of DNA synthesis where it is incorporated into DNA in place of thymidine. It can also be used to label DNA, which can then be used in conjunction with BrdU Monoclonal Antibody for the immunohistochemical analysis of cell proliferation. Scientific research studies employ 5-Bromo-2′-deoxyuridine to investigate the effects of DNA damage on gene expression, DNA replication, and cell cycle regulation.
