5-Bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (5-BrdU) is a thymidine analog utilized in the study of DNA synthesis where it is incorporated into DNA in place of thymidine. Thank you very much for your question. 5-Bromo-2'-deoxyuridine can be used to label DNA. The resulting DNA can be used in conjunction with BrdU Monoclonal Antibody for the immunohistochemical analysis of cell proliferation. We currently offer different antibodies for the detection of BrdU, e.g. our most popular antibody is BrdU Antibody (IIB5) sc-32323. However, for the detection of BrdU incorporated into DNA during S-phase of a cell cycle by IF, IHC(P) and FCM we recommend the BrdU Antibody (MoBU-1): sc-51514.
