CIITA Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CIITA in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CIITA, or class II transactivator, plays a crucial role in the immune response by regulating the expression of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules, which are essential for presenting antigens to CD4+ T cells. This process is vital for the activation of T cells and the subsequent adaptive immune response. CIITA functions as a coactivator for MHC class II-specific gene expression and is involved in the negative regulation of the IL-4 gene promoter during T cell differentiation. CIITA′s activity is influenced by GTP-binding and acidic, proline-serine-threonine-rich regions, which are necessary for function. Additionally, CIITA interacts with other proteins, such as RFX-B, which is a key component of the RFX complex required for MHC class II transcription. Defects in CIITA can lead to severe immunodeficiencies, including Bare Lymphocyte Syndrome, highlighting the importance of CIITA in maintaining a functional immune system. Anti-CIITA antibody (E-12) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying immune responses and related disorders.
