SEE ALSO...

Cofilin 1 Antibody (5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Cofilin 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Cofilin 1 antibody (5) is available as both non-conjugated and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cofilin 1 plays a crucial role in regulating actin dynamics, which is essential for various cellular processes, including motility, division, and apoptosis. Cofilin 1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where Cofilin 1 interacts with filamentous actin (F-actin) to promote actin filament disassembly, facilitating rapid cytoskeleton remodeling. Cofilin 1′s ability to bind F-actin is vital for maintaining cellular integrity and function, allowing cells to respond to environmental cues and adapt shape and movement accordingly. Additionally, Cofilin 1′s activity is regulated by phosphorylation; when phosphorylated by LIM kinase 1, Cofilin 1 becomes inactive and unable to bind F-actin, highlighting the importance of post-translational modifications in controlling function. This regulation is critical for processes such as cell migration and tissue remodeling, making Cofilin 1 a significant player in both normal physiology and disease states.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cofilin 1 Antibody (5): sc-53934works well with western blot analysis of human gland tissues
Date published: 2021-02-13
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor signal for endogenous Cofilin in HEK293 cellsThis antibody was tested alongside sc-376476 and sc-166958, but did not give any signal using 1:1000 dilution on HEK293T cells extract. Only a faint band was visible at approx 35kDa, for this antibody and all Cofilin antibodies tested. 50ug of proteins were separated on a 10% SDS-PAGE and transferred on nitrocellulose membrane that was blocked using 5% milk in TBS-T. Antibody incubation was done for 16h at 4 degrees Cielcius.
