HSP 20 Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects HSP 20 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HSP 20 (B-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HSP 20, a member of the low molecular weight heat shock protein family, plays a crucial role in cellular stress responses, particularly in protecting cells from damage during stress conditions such as heat shock and oxidative stress. HSP 20 is predominantly located in the cytoplasm and forms dimers and multimers, which are essential for function as a molecular chaperone. HSP 20′s ability to assist in proper protein folding and prevent aggregation is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and function, especially in skeletal muscle and heart, where HSP 20 is most abundantly expressed. HSP 20′s unique structural characteristics, including a shorter C-terminus and reduced polarity compared to other small heat shock proteins, contribute to specific interactions and functional capabilities within the cell.
