Integrin β1 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Integrin β1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Integrin β1 antibody (A-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Integrin β1 plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling, functioning as a key component of integrin heterodimers that consist of noncovalently associated transmembrane α and β subunits. The presence of 16 α and 8 β subunits allows for the formation of over 20 distinct integrin receptors, which are essential for binding to extracellular matrix components such as fibronectin, collagen, and vitronectin. This binding is vital for cellular processes, as binding facilitates not only cell adhesion but also the transduction of signals that influence cell growth, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis. Furthermore, Integrin β1 is involved in the clustering of integrins through ligand binding, which is necessary for the activation of integrin-mediated responses. The ability of integrins to interact with soluble ligands and counterreceptors on adjacent cells underscores their importance in cellular communication and tissue organization, making Integrin β1 a significant target for research in cell biology and therapeutic applications.

Date published: 2017-04-24

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of (other species, e.g., bovine, porcine, canine, equine, avian, non-mammalian) origin. Do you know if this mouse monoclonal antibody will work?

Asked by: jerojero
Please contact our Technical Service Department and we would be happy to perform sequence analysis and review our data to answer any questions you may have about additional species reactivity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good for MSCTested in western blot on lysate of MSCs isolated from endometrial decidual tissue. Tests were run at 1:1000 dilution in PBS + 0.05% tween-20 + 1% fat-free milk. Gives two neat bands between 100 and 150 kDa plus a very faint smear below 100 kDa.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for WB (rat and human)While previous rabbit antibody from SCBT (discontinued) did not work for human cell lines this antibody seems to detect human INTGb1 as well. In terms of signal strength, I cannot dilute too much (up to 1:300?) though.
