SEE ALSO...

PGDH Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PGDH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGDH (H-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PGDH plays a crucial role in prostaglandin degradation, which are lipid compounds involved in numerous physiological processes, including inflammation and blood flow regulation. Through oxidation of the 15-hydroxyl group of prostaglandins to a keto group, PGDH significantly reduces these molecules′ biological activity, modulating their effects in the body. This enzymatic activity is particularly important during pregnancy, where prostaglandin balance can influence various outcomes. Cortisol has been shown to inhibit PGDH activity in human placental cells, which can have implications for conditions such as preeclampsia, where altered levels of cortisol and PGDH may contribute to the disorder′s pathophysiology. Understanding PGDH function and regulatory mechanisms is essential for developing therapeutic strategies targeting prostaglandin-related conditions.

I have an experiment on 15-Hydroxy Prostaglandin Dehydrogenase in Chicken, which antibody is suitable for ELISA or western blot or IHC?

Asked by: Moustafa
Thank you for your question. This antibody has not been tested on chicken samples, so we can not say for sure if it will work or not. It is recommended for ELISA, WB and IHC, so all those applications should be fine on recommended samples. If you have any further questions, please contact our Asia Technical Service team. You can reach them by phone at (86 21) 6093-6350, by email at: asia@scbio.cn or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com.

I am using PGDH (H-3): sc-271418 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
