Phox2b Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Phox2b in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Phox2b is a critical transcription factor that plays a vital role in the development and differentiation of the enteric nervous system, as well as in the formation of sympathetic and parasympathetic neurons. Phox2b is predominantly located in the nucleus of neuronal cells, where Phox2b regulates gene expression essential for neuronal identity and function. Nuclear localization of Phox2b is crucial because Phox2b interacts with specific DNA sequences, thereby influencing the transcription of target genes involved in neuronal differentiation. Furthermore, Phox2b is essential for the differentiation of noradrenergic neurons in both central and peripheral nervous systems, making Phox2b a key player in the development of the autonomic nervous system. Phox2b promotes the expression of downstream genes, such as tyrosine hydroxylase and dopamine-beta hydroxylase, underscoring Phox2b′s importance in neurotransmitter synthesis and neuronal signaling. With a significant role in neuronal development and function, Phox2b is a valuable target for research into neurodevelopmental disorders and related pathologies.
