SEE ALSO...

CD42b Antibody (SZ2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CD42b of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD42b antibody (SZ2) is available in non-conjugated form. CD42b, also known as glycoprotein Ib α (GPIb α), is a crucial membrane glycoprotein composed of α and β chains, with the β chain also referred to as CD42c. CD42b is predominantly expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes, where CD42b plays a vital role in hemostasis by serving as a receptor for von Willebrand′s factor (vWF). The interaction between CD42b and vWF is essential for platelet adhesion to the vascular endothelium at sites of injury, thereby facilitating the formation of a platelet plug and preventing excessive bleeding. The complex formed by CD42a and CD42b is a major component of the platelet surface, underscoring CD42b′s importance in the regulation of platelet function and the overall coagulation process. CD42b (SZ2) antibody in various applications helps researchers gain insights into the mechanisms of platelet activation and the pathophysiology of bleeding disorders, making CD42b (SZ2) antibody an invaluable tool in both basic and clinical research.

What is the epitope sequence of this antibody?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. This antibody is raised against human platelets and not a peptide sequence. We do not map the binding location of our monoclonal antibodies.
