Miz-1 Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Miz-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Miz-1 (B-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Miz-1 protein, also known as Myc-interacting zinc finger protein-1, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression and cellular processes such as proliferation and differentiation. Located primarily in the nucleus, Miz-1 is essential for mediating transcriptional repression associated with Myc oncogene, which is known for involvement in cancer progression. Miz-1 specifically interacts with Myc, but not with other Myc family members like Max, highlighting a unique role in Myc signaling pathway. The interaction between Miz-1 and Myc is facilitated by helix-loop-helix domain of Myc and a short amphipathic helix at carboxy-terminus of Miz-1, allowing Miz-1 to bind to DNA elements on key promoters such as adenovirus major late and cyclin D1, thereby activating their transcription. Notably, Miz-1 induces a potent growth arrest function, which can be reversed by Myc, underscoring importance in cellular growth regulation and potential implications for cancer research.
